Carers Week 2025

‘Caring about Equality’

9th to 15th June

OneRichmond logoRichmond Carers Centre is delighted to support Carers Week once again this year. To mark the occasion, we have organised a special programme of activities and workshops for carers, supported by OneRichmond, which will be available throughout the month of June. This year’s programme focuses on helping carers improve their physical health and mental wellbeing, while also offering opportunities to socialise and connect with others.

Caring about Equality logo to represent this year's theme for Carers Week 2025Carers Week is a national campaign that raises awareness of caring, highlights the challenges faced by unpaid carers, and recognises the vital contribution you make to families and communities across the United Kingdom. The theme for 2025 is ‘Caring about Equality’, drawing attention to the inequalities unpaid carers often experience, such as a higher risk of poverty, social isolation, and poor health.

Carers Week encourages communities across the country to come together and recognise the enormous contribution made by unpaid carers. Everyone has a part to play in raising awareness and helping carers access the information and support they need, including politicians, employers, education providers, health and social care services, businesses, and the general public. To find out more about Carers Week 2025 and how you can take part, please visit carersweek.org.

Places are filling fast so please register your interest if you would like to attend.

Feedback from carers

Last year, we were delighted that so many carers took part in our Carers Week programme. A total of 97 carers attended at least one of the 26 activities and workshops offered in 2024. We look forward to welcoming even more carers this year.

Very friendly fellow carers, RCC staff and volunteers.

Attending an activity with Richmond Carers Centre feels like the only time that I can do something for myself and feel like a person, rather than a carer. Meeting other carers who feel the same is empowering and the activities are invaluable to me.

The activities during Carers Week are a great way of relaxing and talking to other carers. I have found them of real benefit.
