London Fire Brigade

Did you know that around one third of people who die or are severely injured by fire were receiving some form of care or support? To help tackle this London Fire Brigade has created a short film especially for carers.

It explains how to recognise people likely to be at a higher risk of fire, what fire risks carers could be looking out for, what actions to take, and what to do in the event of a fire. So grab a cup of tea and a biscuit and take thirty minutes to watch something that could save a life: https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/safety/carers-and-support-workers/a-carers-guide-to-home-fire-safety/

Use of health care products and equipment can allow people to remain cared for in their homes. Whilst these items can ease discomfort and improve quality of life, it is important to keep in mind fire safety. The London Fire Brigade has produced a handy leaflet with simple fire safety tips when using health care products and equipment.
