Finding Compassion for Yourself – Free, fully funded compassion journalling course for unpaid carers in July 2026

Kate Poll, a therapeutic creative writing facilitator with an MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes, has been running Compassion Journalling courses for unpaid carers and community groups for several years, including work with RUILS and Age UK, and this course has been developed specifically with carers in mind.

What is involved?

Finding Compassion for Yourself is a free four-week creative writing course designed specifically for unpaid carers, exploring self-compassion in a gentle, practical, and genuinely enjoyable way. No writing experience needed, just a willingness to show up for yourself for a couple of hours a week.
