Richmond Council’s Fairer Access Scheme ensures that no one is priced out of moving more at the borough’s leisure facilities, helping you to enjoy keeping fit, healthy and having fun.
The Council are working in Partnership with Greenwich Leisure Ltd under their “Better” brand to offer concessions for unpaid carers who are registered with Richmond Carers Centre and live in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The scheme options enable pay as you go casual use, monthly direct debit membership or annual membership, so you can make savings whichever way suits you best.
Fairer Access Pay as You Go
This is a free concessionary resident membership that enables discounts each time you book and visit the centre on a pay as you go basis.
Benefits include:
- Discounted adult pay as you go fitness classes
- Discounted adult pay as you go general swimming sessions
- Discounted pay as you go gym sessions
- Discounted adult court bookings
- FREE general swimming for children of parents with a Concessionary Resident Membership – available for indoor general swimming session only
- Discounted junior coached activities (excludes swimming lessons)
These discounts apply at the following centres:
- Pools on the Park, Richmond
- Teddington Pools and Fitness Centre
- Shene Sports and Fitness Centre
- Whitton Sports and Fitness Centre
- Hampton Sports and Fitness Centre
- Teddington Sports Centre

Concessionary Resident Membership
Concessionary Resident Membership is a monthly or annual membership. All activities are included in your monthly or annual membership fee. Richmond’s Sport & Fitness Services offer “Home-site” membership allowing access to one site only and “Multi-site” membership allowing access to all 6 centres.
Home-site membership, available at:
Home-site membership costs £16 per month or £160 for an annual membership. This gives access to your selected home site facilities including gym access and fitness classes.
Multi-site membership, available at:
- Pools on the Park, Richmond
- Teddington Pools and Fitness Centre
- Shene Sports and Fitness Centre
- Whitton Sports and Fitness Centre
- Hampton Sports and Fitness Centre
- Teddington Sports Centre
Multi-site membership costs £31 per month or £310 for an annual membership. This gives access to all 6 leisure centres and includes gym access, fitness classes and swimming sessions.
