We are delighted to share details of a new autumn support initiative launched by our Carers Hub partner, the Addiction Support & Care Agency (ASCA).
Coping with a partner, family member, or friend’s alcohol or drug dependency can be emotionally exhausting and isolating. To ensure local carers have access to dedicated help, ASCA is running a specialised 8-week therapeutic programme this autumn.
The ASCA Richmond Carers Group
The centrepiece of this term’s offer is the ASCA Richmond Carers Group. This weekly group provides a safe, confidential and supportive space where you can share your experiences alongside others who truly understand your journey.
- When: Mondays from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm (running weekly for 8 weeks)
- Where: 233 Lower Mortlake Road, Richmond, TW9 2LL
- Cost: Free under the Carers Hub contract (donations welcome if affordable)
- Facilitators: Two highly experienced, qualified therapists
What Else is Available?
Beyond the weekly support group, registered carers can access a wider holistic care pathway through ASCA to help manage stress and build emotional resilience:
- One-to-One Counselling & Advice: Confidential sessions tailored to your individual needs
- Therapy & Wellbeing Support Groups: Ongoing peer networks to reduce isolation
- Holistic Therapies: Complementary physical therapies designed to support your physical and emotional wellbeing
How to register
If you are an unpaid carer living in or supporting someone within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, you can access these services directly. There is no need for a GP referral.
