Support Edouard Guidon in the 2026 TCS London Marathon

Edouard Guidon is preparing to take on the challenge of a lifetime by running the 2026 TCS London Marathon to raise funds for Richmond Carers Centre. On Sunday 26 April 2026, he will join thousands of runners on the streets of the capital to complete the iconic twenty six mile course. This will be his second time tackling the London Marathon and he is determined to use the privilege of his place to support a cause that is incredibly close to his heart.

A personal journey of care

For Edouard, the motivation to run is rooted in his own family experience. His mother lives with dementia and receives full time care from his father. While his mother’s daily life remains relatively simple because her needs are so carefully met, Edouard recognises that the true weight of the illness is carried by his father.

The burden of her illness is carried almost exclusively by my father. It has been so important for him to find support for his own mental health while navigating the challenges of being a full time carer.

The impact of Richmond Carers Centre

Richmond Carers Centre has provided a vital lifeline for Edouard’s father. By attending events organised by our charity, he has been able to connect with others who truly understand his situation. These opportunities to share experiences and find peer support have made a significant difference to his wellbeing.
Edouard chose to run for our charity because of the direct positive impact we have had on his entire family.

Richmond Carers Centre has made a positive difference to my father’s life. By extension, that has helped my mother, my sister and me. It means a lot to be able to support a small charity that can do the same for other families going through similar experiences.

Why your sponsorship matters

The funds raised by Edouard will help us continue providing the events, advice and emotional support that families like his rely on. Every donation ensures that unpaid carers in our community do not have to carry their burdens alone.

Preparing for a road marathon is a major undertaking. I wanted to honour that challenge by being motivated by a meaningful cause. Knowing that people are getting behind me to support local carers will be a huge boost as I head toward the finish line.
