Parent Carer Workshop with NHS England Quality Transformation Programme

Attend this event on 22nd February 2024 to get involved and you’ll be recompensed £150.

The NHS England Parent Carer Workshop is part of the NHS England National Quality Transformation Programme.

It is redesigning mental health, learning disability and autism inpatient settings for children and young people.

a)   Updating you on the vision for inpatient mental health, learning disability and autism services for children and young people
b)   gathering your feedback on the changes to the service specifications for what inpatient children and young people’s services will look like.

Who is the event for?

The event is for Parent Carers who have had young people in an inpatient setting or have had alternatives to admission support in the community.

What will be talked about at the event?

You will be told about the work The NHSE Quality Transformation Programme has done to improve inpatient services.

The workshop will also cover your experiences of inpatient services and what went well, what could have been better and your ideas of other ways NHSE could meet young people’s needs.

Lots of people who work in or use inpatient services have given their views already. They will tell you what they have said and ask what you think.

Where will the event be?

The Clermont Hotel, Charing Cross, Strand, London, WC2N 5HX (next to Charing Cross station).

When is the event?

Thursday 22nd February, starting at 10.30am and ending at 3.45pm.

Will there be food and drink?

Hot and cold drinks and lunch will be provided. Please let them know if you have any dietary requirements in your email.

How can I get to the event?

Travel can be paid for to and from the event, and accommodation if you are travelling from far away.

They can arrange train tickets and you can claim back bus tickets, mileage if you have come by car and taxi fares.

Will I be paid for coming to the event?

You can be paid £150 for taking part in this event. This includes the time it takes you to travel and prepare for the event.

After the event, a member of the quality transformation team will email you a form. You will need to complete the form and email it back to be paid. The payment will be via the NHS England PPV system and goes through PAYE.

If you do not want to be paid or are coming to the event through your work, you don’t need to complete the form.

  2. your name, email address and phone number
  3. if you need support, the name of the person supporting you
  4. any support or access needs you have and how they may best be met
  5. any dietary requirements you have
  6. if you want us to arrange train travel, please tell us:
    1. where you want to travel from and return to
    2. the times of the train for both journeys
    3. if you want an eticket or collect your ticket from the station
    4. if you have a railcard and what type it is
  7. please tell them if you need to stay in a hotel on the night before the event, as they can arrange and pay for this for you
