Carers Trust is delighted to have presented the Excellence for Carers Award to Richmond Carers Centre.
The award is a Carers Trust standard for best practice in services, advice and information for unpaid carers.
Richmond Carers Centre, part of Carers Trust’s network of local carer organisations, was rigorously assessed for its service, as well as the quality of its leadership, staff, internal processes and engagement with key local partners and stakeholders.
Richmond Carers Centre supports unpaid adult and young carers who live or care for somebody in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames. It provides advice, activities, workshops, and emotional support to over 2500 unpaid carers annually.
Charities achieving the Carers Trust standard must demonstrate quality of service to unpaid carers across ten key areas including outcomes and impact, carer involvement, and information, advice and support.
In its report, Carers Trust said,
The team work hard on a daily basis to influence across the whole ‘Richmond’ community. It is clearly paying dividends for the organisation, commissioner, wider stakeholders in the sector and of course the unpaid carers – the ones directly supported by the organisation and those that would come under the wider sphere of influence.
And
The team should be very proud of the work that they do and the difference they are making to the lives of the carers they work with.
As well as signalling the quality of its services for unpaid carers, the award means Richmond Carers Centre’s partners and stakeholders can be confident they are working with an organisation that has best practice and sustainability at the heart of its work.
The service is well run, delivers a broad range of person centred services for carers and has built positive partnerships with external organisation’s (including statutory partners) for the benefit of carers in the local area.
Christine Hawes, Chair of the Board of Trustees for Richmond Carers Centre proudly announced,
Richmond Carers Centre has been honoured with the Excellence for Carers Quality Mark by The Carers Trust.
This prestigious award highlights the dedicated efforts of the entire team, under the capable leadership of CEO Melissa Wilks, in improving the lives of young and adult unpaid carers they serve in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
Many congratulations to you all.
Helen Oliver, Quality and Improvement Manager at Carers Trust, commented,
