Carers Week 2025 has been and gone. Whether you attended any of the the Richmond Carers Centre events, pledged your support by adding your name to the Caring about Equality campaign on the Carers Week website, took time to read the Carers Week Research report or petitioned your MP for greater UK Government support for unpaid carers, thank you for choosing to get involved.
Our Adult Carers Support Team worked incredibly hard to ensure there was a wide range of activities and workshops throughout June for carers to participate in. The programme was generously supported by OneRichmond. Feedback about the week and activities throughout June has been hugely positive.
Our highlights of Carers Week 2025
All the events have been absolutely fantastic and very well thought out. It has been a joy taking part! Thanks a million!
The 2025 programme
We were delighted to see so many carers take advantage of the opportunities we offered them during Carers Week.
In particular, it was hugely encouraging to note how many new carers participated in activities for the first time. With so much interest and enthusiasm from carers, we were able to offer one of the the fullest programme of activities and events to date. Our programme focused on helping carers to improve their physical health, mental wellbeing and social opportunities to meet peers.
New additions to the programme this year included:
- Barista Masterclass
- Cartier Exhibition at the V&A
- Basket Making
- Wine Tasting
- Mindfulness
Other activities and workshops offered this year included:
- Boat Cruises on the River Thames
- Kew Gardens Trip
- London Wetlands Centre tour
- Little Women at Richmond Theatre
- Massage therapy
- Picnic for Young Adult Carers
- Ceramics course
Yoga and Pilates classes were so relaxing. The classes allowed me to take time out for myself, meet new people and talk. The classes are good for the mind and body
An ambitious programme of activities and workshops for 2025
Richmond Carers Centre were able to offer a wide-reaching programme and deliver activities in different areas of the borough including Hampton, Ham and Barnes. This enabled us to reach a wider number of carers.
By offering more activities throughout June, it allowed more carers to be able to participate. The wide variety of activities meant there was something for everyone.
A number of activities were delivered in the evenings to enable carers who work to participate in Carers Week 2025.
Little Women at Richmond Theatre was especially fun and relaxing, and it gave me the opportunity to chat with other carers during the interval. It was a wonderful atmosphere to be at the Theatre. Marble Hill House tour was really interesting too, with a very knowledgeable guide
