Updating our website to better serve unpaid carers and professionals

Richmond Carers Centre is reviewing its current website to look at ways in which we can improve the ways we deliver information to carers and associated professionals. As part of this process, we are inviting unpaid carers and associated professionals to join a small co-production group to help inform what our new website should contain.

What is co-production?

Co-production is a way of working that involves service providers (Richmond Carers Centre) and users (unpaid carers and professionals) working together to reach a collective outcome.

What to expect

We are asking carers to engage in 3 main activities:

  1. Complete a survey
  2. Attend a focus group (date to be confirmed)
  3. Test the website and feedback

Participants will be asked to complete an online survey, which will ask questions about your experiences of our current website and ask for your opinions about what we can do to improve it (e.g. added functionality, content and design)? It is intended that this process will start you thinking about what features and content you would find useful in a revamped website.

We will collate the survey results and distribute them to the co-production group. We will ask you to bring your ideas to an in-person focus group for discussion (date to be confirmed).

Feasible suggestions from the co-production group will be incorporated into the revamped website. You will then be asked to test the website and offer feedback (what works well, what does not, etc).

To thank you for your time, we will be offering participants a £25 shopping voucher.

Who should apply?

We are keen to hear the opinions of unpaid carers who make use of Richmond Carers Centre’s website as a source of information or point of contact (e.g. to make a referral). You do not need to have specific skills or competencies in web-based IT. However, if you have expertise in any area of digital communications or design, please provide a brief outline of your skills in the comment box below.

Deadline

Registrations of interest will close on Friday 31st January 2025
