The Disability Policy Centre has launched a new nationwide research project to explore how the UK welfare system can better support disabled people and unpaid carers. Supported and funded by Trust for London, the organisation is gathering direct evidence from those with lived experience to shape future government policy.
The primary focus of this project is to understand the barriers that unpaid carers face regarding employment and social security. Statistics show that flexibility in employment remains a massive issue for carers across the country, with hundreds of individuals forced to leave their jobs every single day to provide support to loved ones.
Why your voice matters
The Disability Policy Centre is the only disability think tank in the UK. The team has a proven track record of successfully influencing government policy and is determined to use this new research to drive meaningful legislative change. By sharing your personal experiences, you directly help to form the official policy recommendations that will be presented to lawmakers.
Your insight is invaluable whether you are currently providing care or have previously served as an unpaid carer.
How to participate
The survey takes only a few minutes to complete online and is completely anonymous. As a token of appreciation for your time, all participants have the option to enter a prize draw to win a £250 Amazon voucher.
To share your experiences, you can access the questionnaire directly on The Disability Policy Centre Ongoing Research Page.
If you require the survey in an alternative format, please contact the research team via email at contact@dispolcentre.org.
