Unpaid carers in Richmond are being encouraged to try a new digital support service before the current pilot comes to an end at the end of January.
The AI Carers Support Pilot, developed by Richmond and Wandsworth Adult Social Care and Public Health with support from Richmond Carers Centre, offers unpaid carers a flexible way to talk about their caring role, explore support options and complete a Carers Assessment online.
Early feedback suggests that the pilot has been helpful for carers, and the organisations involved are considering how this type of support could be developed further in the future. Taking part now helps ensure carers voices and experiences shape what happens next.
What is the AI Carers Support Service?
The service uses artificial intelligence to guide an online conversation about your caring role and support needs. It is available at any time of day or night and can be used at your own pace.
Carers can choose whether they would like to complete a full Carers Assessment, or simply ask a question and receive information and signposting.
After the conversation, carers receive an email summary of their discussion and suggested next steps.
How it works
- Start a conversation online at a time that suits you
- The artificial intelligence guide will chat with you about your caring situation and needs
- You can choose to complete a full Carer’s Assessment if you wish
- You will receive personalised recommendations, including local services, online advice and practical resources
- After your conversation, you will receive an email summary of your discussion and support suggestions
