Epilepsy Society understand how epilepsy can have much wider implications for family members and friends. It has launched a free online course, designed specifically to support family members and friends of people living with epilepsy. Understanding more about epilepsy and how to offer effective support can make a significant difference in their lives.
This informative and accessible course offers practical guidance, emotional support strategies, and essential knowledge to help carers feel more confident to support their loved ones. It is a valuable resource for anyone supporting someone with epilepsy, whether they are new to the condition or looking to deepen their understanding.
What will you learn?
- Effective support strategies: learn practical ways to assist your loved one during seizures (including information on emergency medication), and daily life
- Knowledge: build your general epilepsy knowledge
- Self-care: it’s also important to remember to look after yourself, our course includes information and sources of support for you
- Resources and information: signposting to resources and information to help you navigate the challenges of epilepsy

Courses are conducted live online in small groups to allow for interaction and discussion and are led by experienced trainers.
