Cooking Up Community Cookery Programme starting next week

Cooking Up and local community centres are working together to support the health and wellbeing of local people. Their next free 5 week courses help build confidence and practical skills whilst encouraging healthy food choices and improving socialisation.

Over the course of 5 weeks, you will enjoy a weekly 90-minute cooking session where you will learn to prepare a delicious meal and take home what you have cooked in the class. Cooking Up’s friendly volunteers will be there to guide you every step of the way. Here s what one happy participant had to say about their experience with Cooking Up:

Who is it for?

The course is particularly suited to people who

  • live alone
  • are on a low income
  • are new to cooking
  • are looking for a new positive social activity

What is the cost?

All meals are cooked on the hob and all ingredients are budget-friendly, costing no more than £1.50 per person. The course is free for you to join.
