Dementia Carers Count 2024 annual survey

For the past couple of years, Dementia Carers Count have carried out an annual survey, inviting dementia carers to tell it about their experiences. It is really important that it hears from as many carers and former carers as possible. Everyone’s experience is unique and every carer’s voice matters.

Dementia Carers Count’s survey enables it to better understand the different challenges individuals are facing across the UK. Dementia Carers Count can then make sure that it is helping carers in ways that best suit them. What it finds out also enables Dementia Carers Count to speak up loud and clear about what must change so that no dementia carer feels overwhelmed or alone.

About the survey

Last year, Dementia Carers Count heard from over 1,300 carers who told it about their caring roles, what they found hard and what would make the most difference to them.

Dementia Carers Count’s findings informed its report Invisible and its Dementia Carers Manifesto, which was shared with all parliamentary candidates in the run up to the General Election.

This year, Dementia Carers Count are looking at carers’ rights, as well as asking about what carers need and what the new government should be prioritising.

How to participate

For further information and to take part in the survey, please visit:

https://dementiacarers.org.uk/blog/2024-carer-survey/

The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete, and you can tell Dementia Carers Count as much or as little as you like. All the information you share remains anonymous.

There are paper versions of the survey available on request. Dementia Carers Count can also help carers complete the survey over the phone if that is easier. You can reach the survey team on 0203 5400 700.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to complete our survey or who shares it with someone they know who is looking after a family member or a friend with dementia.

Some of the survey questions may make you or someone you know think about whether you’re getting all the support that you should be available to you.

Dementia Carers Count will share its survey findings in the new year. In the meantime, please remember, Dementia Carers Count are here to help anyone caring for someone with dementia. You are not alone.
