NEW Accessible Wellbeing Walks in Twickenham

Open to all but suitable for people in wheelchairs and people using walking aids.

Free Accessible Wellbeing guided walks, from Twickenham Junction Rough (opposite Twickenham Station), then alongside the River Crane to Kneller Gardens and return, will be led by Frances Bennett and a team of volunteers. Carers may know Frances, who devised and led two popular Step into Nature walks for Carers Wellbeing Day, which explored the gardens and riverside around York House.

Mondays 5th August, 2nd September, 7th October. Meet at 10.15am next to the fountains by The Exchange, London Road, Twickenham. There are seats here, as well as in Kneller Gardens.

Walks start at 10.30am and finish around 12noon. While these walks are free, please register in advance. There is also limited disabled parking, subject to availability. To register and enquire about parking, please ring 07904 608 404 or email parks@richmond.gov.uk

The above is part of Richmond Council’s programme Friendly Parks for All, which aims to ensure that ‘Everyone should have fair access to good quality parks’ by improving opportunities for everyone in the borough to enjoy and benefit from the natural environment.

Frances will also lead a walk by the River Crane on 21st October which is just for carers registered with Richmond Carers Centre.  Read more about the walk and the other regular groups and activities.
