Adult Carers Support Team Leader – full time

Full Time (35 Hours per week)

£33,647 per annum

Contract funded until July 2024

Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim.  We are looking for someone with the skills and ability to offer a coordinated approach in supporting unpaid and family adult carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Carers provide vital support and can come from all walks of life and be of any age.

As Adult Carer Support Team Leader you will lead and supervise a small dedicated team and participate in the direct delivery of a range of services for adult carers, including information and advice, emotional support, and other activities. Using your strong leadership skills, you will work with the management team and support staff to deliver, review, and continually develop services for carers to best meet their identified needs.  You will demonstrate your ability and experience to take a strategic approach to service development, showing your capacity to effectively manage change, take risks, problem solve and be innovative.  Supporting, developing and leading your team will be key to your success.  Building and maintaining relationships both within our organisation and with external third sector, health and social care professionals will be essential.

With your proven knowledge of working with carers or other vulnerable groups on an individual and/or group basis, you’ll recognise the importance of being client focused and have a commitment to enhance the lives of carers.  You will be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of carer’s needs, a wide range of skills in relation to service delivery to support carers, and have a sound understanding of social care provision in both statutory and voluntary sector environments.

You will be self-motivated and positive in your approach to working with both carers and staff, and have a willingness to embrace our organisational values.  Being an effective leader, you will respond positively to new challenges and be influential in supporting others to manage change, develop their skills and knowledge, problem solve and make decisions. Strong administrative, time management, IT and organisational skills are essential.  Your ability and willingness to occasionally work outside normal working hours is required.
